Koh Rong Samloem Island will host a solar power plant of 1.25 MW which will empower Saracen Bay.
This is the first solar power project of Koh Rong Samloem Island and is constructed as “two stand-alone solar-based micro-grids” which can provide electricity.
Louisa Clare LIM from Total Solar Distributed Generation (DG) Communication and Media Department confirmed that their current projection is to start it in a month and complete it in the first quarter of 2021. In the beginning, the power plant will provide power to the contacted partner resort and currently, there is a discussion to provide electricity to all Saracen Bay businesses and residences.
Total Solar DG has been developing solar energy power plants with a total power of about 600MW in countries: Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand and Indonesia.
